This position directs and coordinates the medical billing and coding office; and requires strong managerial, leadership, and business office skills, an Associates degree in business administration or related field Minimum of five (5) years Medical Insurance/Healthcare Billing and Collections experience in a mid-size to large multi-specialty medical practice or health system and a deep understanding of medical billing rules and regulations Two (2) years supervisory or management experience (especially a multi-specialty physician group) Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting, revenue cycle, third party payers, Medicare; strong knowledge of Florida and Federal payer regulations; as well as UHC and BCBS Working knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes (CPC coder preferred) Up to date with health information technologies and applications (E Clinical Works billing/EMR system) Certified coder is a plus EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled employer
